Diabetic Foot Care Cream

A Specialist Foot Cream for Diabetic Foot Problems providing Clinically Proven Hydration and Relief for Dry, Sensitive Feet

Diabetic Foot Cream

Diabetic Foot Care Cream is one of a range of unique Medical Skin Care products developed by NAQI aimed at improving the dry skin on the feet of diabetic patients. The cream provides intensive hydration of dry and sensitive skin. It slows the ageing process and reduces the yellow discolouration of the skin.

Diabetic Foot Care cream is a high quality and very effective skin cream that is non-greasy and easily absorbed by the skin. It is suitable for use on your feet, and should be applied once or twice daily as part of your daily foot care regime.

Diabetic Foot Problems

Diabetes can lead to poor circulation and limit the blood supply to your feet, as well as causing a loss of feeling due to nerve damage (diabetic neuropathy). Foot care amongst diabetics is very important and problems can affect anyone who has the condition regardless of the type and progression of the disease.

It is an unfortunate fact that foot ulcers affect as many as 1 in 10 people with diabetes and they are more likely to be admitted to hospital with a foot ulcer than with any other complication of the condition. Ulcers can develop into serious infections and diabetics are 15 times more likely to have a limb amputated due to gangrene. Even small ulcers on the foot can be a serious risk as they can heal very slowly and need intensive treatment to cure.

To reduce the risk of poor circulation developing it is advised to bring your blood sugar levels under control and ensure that your blood pressure and cholesterol levels are checked and controlled with medication if needed. Smoking also has a harmful effect on the blood supply to your feet and should be avoided. A healthy diet which is low in fat, sugar and salt, and high in fruit and vegetables, as well as regular physical activity, such as a brisk walk each day will all help in reducing the risk of poor circulation

Daily Footcare

As part of a daily foot care regime it is recommedned to wash your feet with a gentle soap and warm water, (not hot). Then dry your feet carefully and check your feet for signs of calluses, changes in colour and breaks in the skin. To keep your skin healthy apply a specialist cream such as NAQI Foot Care cream to maintain the barrier function of your skin and retain moisture, as well as antioxidants and anti-irritants to reduce premature ageing of the skin and itching.

In addition

  • See a podiatrist for your annual foot review, and keep your feet free from infection.

  • Make sure that your socks and shoes are comfortable and fit well and avoid walking barefoot.

  • Cut your toe nails on a regular basis.

  • Any corns or hard skin should be treated by a podiatrist.

  • If you have signs of ulceration or foot damage seek urgent advice from your doctor. If your foot condition is left untreated or incorrectly treated, it could lead to more serious damage occurring.

  • If you find that your feet show signs of numbness, a tingling sensation or a feeling of pins and needles in the feet or legs, a hot sensation in the feet , or your feet sweat less than usual this could be signs of nerve damage (diabetic neuropathy). Contact you doctor if you experience any of these symptoms.

  • Signs of loss of poor blood circulation developing can include coldness or pale coloured feet, thickened toe nails, a loss of hair on your feet or legs and cramp in your calves. If you notice these signs developing consult your doctor for advice.

NAQI Diabetic Skin Care Products

NAQI Foot Care has been designed to improve the dry foot skin associated with diabetes and reduce the premature skin ageing process. The cream improves the barrier function of the epidermis by increasing levels of lamellar lipid and binds water within the skin with humectants. It also stimulates the lower dermal layer to protect itself from dehydration, inhibits glycation end products that age the skin and provides antioxidants and anti-inflammatories to protect the skins cells and reduce irritation that causes the skin to itch.

It is recommended to use NAQI Foot Care as part of your daily skin care routine in conjunction with their other specialist Diabetic skin products; Body Care Cream, Body Lotion and Body Soap.

The efficacy of NAQI Diabetic creams has been clinically proven in studies undertaken by the University of Liege in Belgium.
